NIPSCO (Northern Indiana Public Service Company), a NiSource subsidiary, announced in November 2025 that it has agreed to supply up to 3 GW of power to Amazon data centers in northern Indiana. The 15-year agreement is structured through a ‘GenCo’ framework specifically designed to ensure existing customers pay nothing for the infrastructure serving Amazon — and, beyond that, to generate positive savings for residential customers. NIPSCO projects the arrangement will produce approximately $1 billion in savings for its ratepayers over the life of the agreement, reflected as a credit on residential electric bills of approximately $7 per month.
